About Bob

A short summary... written by Rosemary Diane Hargis

You may want to discredit the testimony of a man’s wife, because it is jaded with bias towards her husband But, no one has seen Bob’s faith in action more, or could better describe the things he does than me. ~ Rosemary

Bob is intensely patriotic. He is a family man and devoted fun loving father. We have been married for 20 years and have an 18 year old daughter, 12 year old son and a 2 year old son.

Bob is unique in that he truly loves people, regardless of their differences. He sees no need for walls of separation between races and religions, and he frequently takes opportunities to cross the lines of diversity that others fear.

Bob is a great speaker, communicator and motivator. His message is always one of hope and his personal walk reflects a life of intention, spirit and optimism. His passion for life and his focus on being positive in a negative world gives him an exceptionally optimistic viewpoint of the current world events. He is well versed in national and foreign affairs and follows the events and changes in government daily.

Bob has been a public servant for almost 20 years, as a Paramedic, Teacher, and EMS Administrator. He is currently the Executive Director of Southern Oklahoma's largest ambulance service. He has extensive experience is managing crisis and disaster. He is a creative problem solver who manages emergency decisions with amazing calmness.

Bob’s personal adventures are guided by a desire to help people at their point of need. I wrote the following summary of a few things that Bob has been involved in in the last few years:

In 1998, Bob started a personal ministry of helping homeless people and hitchhikers. Disguised as a traveler, he helped scores of people who were down and out by providing transportation to their destinations and by giving them meals and temporary housing.

2000, Bob spent 6 months helping a elderly chronic alcoholic to live a better life. He devoted time everyday of the week to serve his new friend with everything from fixing the plumbing in his old shack, gathering firewood, to bringing him a regular supply of food. The man called Bob his guardian angel. Without Bob’s intervention he admits that he would not have survived that winter. Bob asked for absolutely noting in return.

In 2001 Bob used his vacation to travel to Indianapolis to live homeless, so that he could feel first hand what it is like for the part of our society who live completely down and out. Bob broke personal barriers as his life was transformed by his experience.

In 2003 Bob broke denominational barriers by sharing his homeless story in over 30 churches and organizations, including Baptist, Methodist, Assembly of God and Non—Denominational churches. In an attempt to demonstrate the equality of people and our need to respect all men, Bob was able to cross a strict boundary and speak freely about his discoveries of the hearts of men. His story demonstrated our need to live without judgment and bias towards those we often see as unimportant.

2003 Bob traveled to Mombassa Kenya to teach Emergency Medical Technician Instructors so that the EMS system in Kenya could better train its own EMT’s. Bob believes that all people deserve the best they can have. After being personally invited to travel to Kenya, Bob raised his own money to fund a project that taught him the value of reaching out to those who are in need. Bob’s experience increased his ability to express himself and added great depth to his teaching and speaking experience.

Bob has logged hundreds of hours volunteering in his community. He is especially intrigued with opportunities to show genuine love to those who are looked down on by society. He believes that all people deserve success and abundance.

Bob is opinionated, yet open minded. He knows what he believes and stands firm in his faith, but has an amazing ability to patiently stand by those who have different beliefs. He always seeks and facilitates unity between people. He loves this country, and has faith for it’s growth and hope for it’s people. I am always amazed at the passion he has for people and the fight he will wage to protect them. When he says he will serve the American people and be their voice in Washington, he means it, because he is a servant at heart.
